The South African Arts and Culture Youth Forum (SAACYF) Free State proudly hosted the 2nd Annual Free State Arts Alive Festival in partnership with Mmabana Arts and Culture Centre in Thaba Nchu on October 31st and November 1st, 2025.

The festival brought together talented artists from across the Free State Province, celebrating unity, creativity, and cultural diversity. The event served as a vibrant platform to showcase local talent and strengthen cultural identity within the province.

Remarkably, 90% of the featured artists were from the Free State, highlighting the province’s growing creative potential. The festival also made a significant contribution to the local economy, boosting business activities in Thaba Nchu and surrounding areas.

SAACYF has expressed its intention to engage with the Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation (DSACR) to secure sustainable funding and long-term support for future festivals, ensuring the initiative continues to grow and empower young artists.
