On June 16th, as the nation commemorated Youth Day, the teams of Little Manhattan eagerly took to the fields, brimming with hope and determination. It proved to be a day of mixed emotions as the soccer team emerged victorious, while the netball team fought valiantly but secured second place in their respective tournaments.

The #LittleManhattanSoccer team delivered an outstanding performance, clinching the championship title through unwavering teamwork and determination. Coach Sandile Dlamini lauded the squad, saying, “The boys exhibited incredible spirit and resilience. They worked tirelessly, and their efforts paid off.”

Key player and team captain, Lindokuhle Mncube, expressed, “Winning on Youth Day makes this victory even more meaningful. We aimed to honor the spirit of youth, and I believe we accomplished that today.”

Meanwhile, the #LittleManhattanNetball team, under the guidance of Coach Zolane, showcased exceptional skill and sportsmanship throughout the tournament. Despite their best efforts, they narrowly missed the mark in the final match, securing a commendable second place. “Our girls played with heart and gave their all,” Coach Zolane remarked. “Although we didn’t clinch the cup, the experience and growth we’ve gained are invaluable.”

Star player Karabo Sephokgole reflected optimistically on their journey, stating, “We’re proud of our performance. This is just the beginning, and we’ll return even stronger next time.” The Youth Day celebrations were enriched by these spirited competitions, embodying the essence of youthful vigor and perseverance.
