This past Sunday 15th June 2025, Father’s Day was more than just a celebration—it was a powerful reminder of love, leadership, and legacy within the church family. I had the privilege of spending this special day at Getsemane The Church of Repentance – Holy Jerusalem, Ivory Park Branch, where Father’s Day was joyfully merged with a Church Funny Day organized as part of the youth’s ongoing fundraising efforts.

The atmosphere was electric and filled with joy as both the Sunday School children and adults participated in a variety of engaging activities. From high-energy aerobics and soccer matches to the nostalgic fun of mogosha, skipping, and the peaceful balance of yoga, each event was conducted with enthusiasm and unity. It was truly a multigenerational experience where laughter echoed and spirits were uplifted.

The day showcased not just physical agility, but the heart of the church community—supporting its youth, honoring its elders, and strengthening spiritual bonds. Every father present stood as a beacon of strength and humility, participating with grace and guiding the younger members by example.

At the conclusion of the day’s activities, a beautiful moment unfolded. The church leadership took time to honor all the fathers and men in attendance, handing over thoughtful gifts as a gesture of appreciation and recognition for their roles within the family, church, and society. It was a heartfelt moment that left many touched and uplifted.

Getsemane The Church of Repentance – Holy Jerusalem continues to be a pillar of spiritual growth and communal love in Ivory Park. Events like these remind us that fatherhood, when rooted in faith and purpose, becomes a legacy that uplifts generations.
