This event is more than an award ceremony—it’s a platform created to honor, uplift, and showcase the incredible talent of young individuals within the Lawley area. The Sihle Mtshali Awards were established to recognize hard work, innovative thinking, and passion among local youth, encouraging them to continue developing their skills and maximizing the use of available resources.

According to Sibonelo Mtshali, the driving force behind the awards, the aim is to create hope and ignite the spirit of possibility in a community where formal opportunities are limited. “Even if we don’t have employment opportunities for our people, they can produce something out of nothing,” he explains. “Events like this one bring hope and inspire action.”

The awards span approximately 15 categories, including event hosts, DJs, entrepreneurs, dancers, MCs, footballers, and more—reflecting the diverse and dynamic talent found in Lawley. Each category will feature five nominees, and the winners will be selected through a fair and transparent voting process.
