A fire incident that broke out at Thembisa Hospital earlier this afternoon sent waves of concern across the community, but thanks to a prompt emergency response, the blaze was quickly brought under control without any loss of life.
Mr. Motalatale Modiba, the Gauteng Department of Health (GDoH) Head of Communication, issued a statement at 18:00 confirming that the fire had been contained and that no fatalities were reported. “All patients have been safely moved to secure areas within the hospital premises. The situation is now under control,” Modiba affirmed.
