Yakha Ikusasa Manje After School Program is doing wonders for the community, as their name suggests, by taking kids off the streets. With the ever-changing behaviors of the youth of this generation, we as a society need to come up with strategic ways to influence the youth, and through sports, we can.

Speaking to South African Rainbow News, Senzi from Yakha Ikusasa Manje said, “For the afterschool program, we have tutors that are helping learners with different subjects that they lack at school and assisting in the homework as well where they don’t understand.”

Still within their afterschool program space, they have youth that are keen on helping learners with sports since this is a much-needed scarcity in schools lately. As indicated on the photographs, these are training sessions, and they are still the very same. Youth helping learners with sports organizes games or tournaments with other local clubs, e.g., Westville, Catonsville, Germiston, etc., and normally these happen on weekends. Learners compete according to their ages, for example, under 10, 12, 14, etc.

It is true when they say, Show me your friends, and I will show you your future. This shows how much influence teenagers have on each other and how vital it is for children to be around positive children. The project Yakha Ikusasa Manje is giving to the community is of outmost importance as it contributes to shaping the futures of children and the future.
