Lehlogonolo Oompie founder of Hlonzi Production an organization that has took up the mandate of assisting small developing choirs around the Northwest Province namely Rustenburg, Tlhabane, Chaneng village, Brits Bapong Villages and surrounding areas with their challenges they face as developing choirs from challenging socioeconomic backarounds.

Speaking To South African Rainbow News Oompie went on the highlight some of the work they do as part of the Give Back to The Community Initiative they do as an organization which involves the donation of school uniforms to struggling choir members from clap and tap developing choirs, stationery donation. “We go as far as helping unemployed members of developing choirs with transport money for interviews, and updating on work opportunities” he said, also applauding how their initiative has assisted with reducing crime in the community while giving hope through music.

Hlonzi Production was founded to also address the issue faced by most developing clap and tap choirs with regard to getting their music out there and recognition, that’s where Hlonzi Production stepped in to uplift developing choirs by enabling them to greater heights. “We help with promoting them, booking venues and even pay transport for the kids to reach stages for performance. They are well known in their sphere as they have worked with a lot of clap and tap groups in the area such as Motheo wa Emmanuel Church Choir, Matete Gospel Choir, Terone e entle Church Choir, Bakgethwa Music Ministry, Tshwane Melodic Singers and Holliness Church Choir”.

“The goal is to change lives through music and give recognition to a lo of our developing choirs to one day reach nation and international stages, to give our indigenous music of clap and tap the reputation and fame it deserves, while we touch lives with the gospel and melodies of our voices” said Oompie.
