The South African Arts and Culture Youth Forum (SAACYF), in partnership with CATHSSETA, successfully hosted a 3-day Theatre and Film Acting Skills Workshop at the Lejweleputswa Arts & Culture Centre from 26 to 28 March 2026.

The workshop brought together theatre practitioners and aspiring actors from across the region. The sessions were facilitated by industry experts Sabelo Makhubo and Lucky Malebatso. Makhubo, a renowned actor and theatre practitioner, is known for his roles in television dramas and soapies such as Ekurhuleni News, Generations, and The Queen. Malebatso, an experienced theatremaker and director, shared valuable insights and practical knowledge with participants.

The event received strong support from key stakeholders, including the Lejweleputswa Arts & Culture Centre, the Free State Department of Sports, Arts, Culture and Recreation, and the South African Theatre Industries Chamber. Representatives from the MEC Office and the host centre also expressed their appreciation and support for the initiative.

SAACYF Free State Provincial Chairperson, Lekgutsa Mbele, delivered the closing address, extending gratitude to participants, facilitators, and stakeholders for their valuable contributions.
