On Saturday, 5 April 2025, the Tembisa South SAPS team, led by Captain Moraba, Warrant Officer Masemola, and members of the Social Crime Prevention Unit, received a formal Memorandum of Demands from residents of Ward 04, Ward 06, Ward 11, and Mashemong. The march, known as the Justice for Cwecwe Movement, was driven by the community’s call for justice and improved police services.

The peaceful demonstration aimed to raise awareness about the tragic case of Cwecwe, a 7-year-old rape victim, whose story has shaken the Tembisa community. It also sought to amplify the voices of survivors and residents who demand accountability, responsiveness, and professionalism from their local law enforcement.

The memorandum included key demands addressed to the Tembisa South Police Station:
- Provide transparency and feedback on all rape cases opened at the station
- Increase police visibility in schools and high-risk residential areas
- Explain why certain cases were withdrawn without proper consultation
- Ensure that perpetrators are arrested when reported
- Promote professional conduct and respectful treatment by police officers

In response, the Tembisa South SAPS leadership has committed to working collaboratively with the community to tackle rape and sexual offences, and to restore public trust in police services. The station will also improve support services for victims and enhance its visibility in the fight against gender-based violence.
