DAVEYTON, EKURHULENI – The Daveyton business community is taking another step towards strengthening local economic development, collaboration and business networking through initiatives led by the Daveyton-based business organisation, SABHIBA, under the leadership of its Chairman, Michael Dlamini.
Following a successful Business Week event hosted at Victor Ndlazilwane Community Hall in Daveyton from 21 to 25 September 2026, SABHIBA identified the need to move beyond business presentations and introduce practical business activation initiatives that would bring local entrepreneurs closer together.
Under the leadership of Michael Dlamini, the organisation moved towards implementing business networking activities designed to ensure that local businesses remain active, visible and connected.
The initiative resulted in a business networking and presentation session organised in partnership with Mississippi in Daveyton.

The event aimed to bring together different business sectors, including shop owners, hawkers, distribution centres and other entrepreneurs, under one platform to encourage networking, product showcasing and mutual support.
The collaboration also coincided with Mississippi hosting football supporters during the Soweto Derby on 31 October 2026. The joint efforts created an opportunity for both SABHIBA and Mississippi to benefit from the occasion while providing local entrepreneurs with a platform to showcase their products and services.
Through this initiative, business owners were able to interact with potential customers, connect with fellow entrepreneurs and explore opportunities for future collaboration.

The Department of Economic Development also participated through its Consumer division, which had an exhibition stand at the event. Its involvement provided an additional opportunity for engagement between government representatives, entrepreneurs and the local business community.
Speaking through its ongoing initiatives, SABHIBA continues to emphasise the importance of building sustainable business relationships and encouraging entrepreneurs to support one another.
Chairman Michael Dlamini’s leadership forms part of the organisation’s efforts to strengthen business cooperation and create platforms where local enterprises can grow collectively.

Looking ahead, SABHIBA is preparing to host what is expected to be its final Flea Market event for 2026 on 28 November 2026 in Daveyton.
The upcoming event aims to provide additional opportunities for exhibitors, entrepreneurs and small businesses to display and market their products and services to a wider audience.
SABHIBA intends to extend invitations beyond Daveyton to neighbouring townships, including Kwa-Thema, Vosloorus and Tembisa, encouraging entrepreneurs and community members from surrounding areas to participate.
The objective is to establish a broader township business platform where entrepreneurs can connect, establish partnerships, exchange business opportunities and support local economic development across communities.

Another major initiative in SABHIBA’s pipeline is the planned launch of ESO 40, which will introduce shops within the organisation’s business networking initiative.
The first shops are expected to be launched in Daveyton, with plans to gradually expand the initiative across the entire Gauteng Province.
The ESO 40 initiative is expected to add another dimension to SABHIBA’s efforts to connect businesses, strengthen local commercial activities and create more opportunities for entrepreneurs through an organised business network.
Under the leadership of Chairman Michael Dlamini, SABHIBA aims to continue building partnerships with local establishments, government stakeholders and entrepreneurs to strengthen the township business ecosystem.
The organisation’s vision is to create a business environment where local enterprises have access to visibility, networking opportunities, collaboration and collective support.
The message emerging from these initiatives is clear: sustainable township economic development requires collaboration, participation and a shared commitment to supporting businesses within local communities.
